Range, charging and battery care for your MAXSHOT
A scooter battery is the most expensive part of the ride and the easiest to look after. Here is how we think about range, how long each MAXSHOT takes to charge and the habits that keep a lithium pack healthy.
What changes your real range
Quoted ranges assume a lighter rider on flat roads at moderate speed. Every 20 lb of extra weight, every steep hill and every mile in Sport mode trims that number. Cold weather has the biggest effect: below about 40°F a lithium battery can lose a fifth of its range until it warms up.
Tire size and pressure matter less with honeycomb solid tires, which is one more reason we use them — there is no under-inflated tire quietly eating your range.
Charging times by model
The V7's 36V 5.2Ah pack refills in about 3 to 4 hours. The V1 and V1 PRO take about 5 hours. The V1S PRO needs about 6 hours for its first charge and under 5 hours after that, and the V1 MAX with its 42V 14.5Ah battery takes the longest — plan an overnight charge.
The first charge
Charge a new scooter fully before the first ride, then unplug and switch it on. This conditions the battery management system so the display reads the battery level accurately.
Everyday battery care
Charge at room temperature on a hard surface, away from anything flammable, and use only the original charger. Unplug once the charger light turns green. If you store the scooter for weeks, leave it at about half charge and top it up monthly. Avoid running the pack completely flat; if it ever does, charge it within a day.
Keep the charging port clean and dry. A dusty port is the most common reason a scooter seems not to charge.
Safety and UL 2272
Every MAXSHOT battery and charger set is safety tested to UL 2272, the standard for personal e-mobility electrical systems. It covers overcharge, short-circuit and fire resistance — but good charging habits still matter.
